System Introduction

The "Electronic Fence" personnel approach protection system is based on our company's underground coal mine personnel positioning system architecture. It integrates UWB precision positioning, video recognition, and infrared thermal imaging technologies. Developed with comprehensive consideration of the complex and harsh working environments of tunneling, fully mechanized mining, and confined walls, as well as the diverse operational processes of production and maintenance teams, this system not only displays the situation around large equipment to drivers in real time, but also provides features such as personnel and equipment proximity alarms, equipment shutdown vehicle control, special personnel management, work mode switching, and wireless emergency stop. In addition to assisting drivers with safe driving, it can also directly control vehicle and pump shutdowns in emergencies, preventing accidents and promoting the development of intelligent and information-based coal mines. The alarm zone is defined as 7 meters from the front or rear of the tunneling machine (based on the longer distance between the card reader and the front or rear of the machine); the stop zone is defined as 3 meters from the front or rear of the tunneling machine (based on the longer distance between the card reader and the front or rear of the machine); and the work zone is defined as a 4-meter radius around the card reader. Yellow areas are designated as alarm zones, red areas as stop zones, and green areas as staff work zones. If an outsider enters the alarm zone, the system automatically triggers an alarm on the TBM.

If an outsider enters the shutdown zone, the system automatically triggers an alarm and shuts down the TBM.

If a local operator leaves the work area, the system automatically triggers an alarm and shuts down the TBM.

Due to the single-staff operation characteristics of the TBM, the machine can operate normally with only one operator in the work area. Within the infrared thermal imaging camera's monitoring area, two levels of electronic fences are demarcated: a danger zone and a shutdown zone, based on on-site operational requirements. If a person enters the TBM's danger zone, the system issues an alarm; if a person enters the shutdown zone, an alarm is issued and the TBM is immediately shut down.
